Homework

Is the martial arts program your in for REAL? Shocker there are lots of watered down martial arts programs and dojos. So how do you tell quality from??? The answer: Do some homework, the Internet has plenty of references, resources and ways to check credibility. If the instructor teaches something you can't reference then "red flag", if they claim to be a master or "only recipient maaster" then equals BIG "red flag"! Can you verify their rank level, if not "red flag", add it up and go some place else. Ask questions, belt mills only teach the basics -they don't have any more knowledge than that i.e. students advance very quickly but the program doesn't retain advanced belts - there is a reason, it's because students reach a point where they realize the owner, chief instructor is full of them self or only has a limited knowledge base or "everyone" is a black belt, either equals "red flag".

I have a saying "everyone" can sing in the shower". That doesn't mean they can sing. It's the same in the martial arts, schools and school owners who don't participate outside their program are only kidding themselves about what they think they know.

"Do your homework" it separates those who can figure it out from those who can't.
